Yep! I believed that too until I started seeing happy coupes divorce after two years and the grannies abandoning their long time spouses.

I do think the messed up idea of happiness and marriage is just a phase of a changing society. And we feel lost because we would rather fight the reality we see now than disregard every lie we were told as children.
