Wow! This a deep one. Well, technology has saved more lives than ever. I still believe the growth in technology and civilization will be for the best.

The most important aspect we should look into is the extinctions of certain species- trees, livestocks, sea and ocean. As for self destruction, I believe with effective laws in place that too can be controlled.
