What's more annoying about pervasive gender roles is that after all the efforts women put in running and nurturing their family and aged parents, they are denied inheritance.

Boys and men who never contributed in caring for their old parents are valued and recognized by the fathers than girls and women who did. My grandfathers did that to their daughters. My dad tried to be different and included clause to give his female children education to university levels.

Now tell me, despite maturing faster than boys what do women benefit from this biased culture? Ladies, decenter men even those in your family and focus on yourself.

The only excuse men have now is that they are protecting us, but if they (men) are not putting our lives in danger, we won't need to be protected or be afraid for our lives.

Again control mechanism. Men are afraid of how powerful women are without them so they will do anything to keep us insecure. First is beauty standards, then body shaming, and then guilt trip. But if we don't care how society perceive us (girls and women), we take away their power over us.
