The reason I stopped arguing about such topics is the hypocrisy I see in Christianity. Women are punished because of a curse placed on Eve in Gen 3:16. Women were cursed to fulfil a man's desire and be ruled by men. And since then the Christian doctrine has ensured that women stay under the control of men.
Yet, Christianity keeps preaching reception and forgiveness of sins. Christ died so our sins would be forgiven. He gave us a new law to love others as we love ourselves. And he broke all curves with his death. Isn't it why we celebrate Easter?
But no. Women's curses were never broken, only that of men. And the love we preach? Is just the love for men. Women are not valued by our religious leaders how can we expect political leaders to?
Though I speak of Christian here, if what they say is true that each religion has a similar version, this explains why the Muslims, Jews, and the rest have no respect for women.
We should remind our so-called religious leaders that we are not Eve and men are not Adam. As such we do not bear the mark of eternal condemnation any more than men.
Gone are the days when we blindly follow religious doctrines. Religious fanatics always manipulate the Bible and Quran to keep women under their mercy.
Any law, whether religion, tradition or political that does not recognise men and women as equal human beings with equal rights should not be accepted.
