Oh my God! I have been saying the same Dennis Waitley said to parents whenever they get too protective of their children.
Sometimes my mum will worry that my daughter hasn't returned home from an errand and I will tell her she worries too much. But mum thinks I don't care as much as she does which is why I don't show concern when my girl isn't home.
How wrong of her? My daughter is 19, but I respect her independence and I want her to be responsible for her choices because I'm confident of the upbringing I gave her.
At some point, parents have to let their children fly and discover themselves. For me that time is from sixteen years and above.
