I understand your concern but the madman must be stopped or else we would have more than oil to worry about. We are talking about living another day.

Oil can be substituted. The UK has been on about electric cars. If we can reduce oil consumption, war beneficiaries like Russia will be no threat to human lives. I don't believe we will see a repeat of the 1970s. We are more advanced and equipped to minimise the risk than it was then.
