I understand how you feel. I too have lived with disability for over 6 years but I never felt they way you feel or how most people feel about their disability. I read stories how disables hate being called inspiration porn and I get confused. Why don’t most disables see themselves as an inspiration by abled? But they are comfortable taking inspiration from everyone else.

I mean we look at Elon Musk, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Jobs, James Vujicic as inspirations but disables get offended when they are praised for doing something most ordinary people cannot do. I think our (humans) judgements are too clouded that we now see any differences in communication as offensive. I’m sure you wouldn’t have taken these guys comments personal if you weren’t a disabled.
