I separate my image as a writer from my real-life image. There are things I write about like my sex life that I don't express in person, which is great. My personality as a writer is the part of me I don't show people who know me. At least not all of it.

We all have two sides and as writers, it's perfectly okay to live two different lives. So you should separate your work from your writing life. You owe no one a clear picture of your ins and out.
