I don’t indulge in frivolous lifestyle so I find it burdensome when a friend comes to borrow money from me to spend on some extravagant lifestyle. Such a request will usually get a “I don’t have right now. I’m barely keeping up till my next paycheck.”

Even if I own my business I still set up a specific amount as my income and reinvest the rest.

So when I’m lending money, I don’t look forward to them returning it, and I don’t lose sleep over the amount because I have already prepared my mind for either outcome.

I know this may sound insensitive, but the world is selfish, and people are quick to repay good with evil. I live by my principles, and I give without expecting but not at the expense of my mental health.
