I appreciate your response. If you will understand my stand then we must be honest about one thing. Isn’t our lives rooted in patriarchy? Everything you mentioned as why women delay marriage, are they not mitigated by the patriarchal culture?

Whether you choose to believe it or not, marriage is oppressive to women. Why? Because women lose more than men in when they are married. Women are forced into submission in their marriage.

And is also the main reason NOT the only reason women are delaying getting married. In fact, more women are choosing to cohabit rather than sign a legally binding partnership.

Anyway, I think you should speak to divorced women to understand how married life is for women. That's if you are arguing that marriage is oppressive to women.

Think about it. You said it yourself women are still forced into marriages. Why force them? I rarely hear of men being forced into marriage with someone they do not want to.
