First off, sex work is a job. I hope you know that? They do pay taxes and are recognised by law.

Now speaking about the Julia Roberts character in Pretty Woman, the movie does portray different sides to it. I watches the movie years ago but I still remember the lessons from that movies.

Prostitution has always been recognised as a demeaning job and like you, who treat sex workers as lesser being, the movies highlights a positive scenario about prostitutes. Vivian is an intelligent sex worker, who finally meets her true love and he didn't care about the nature of her job, he didn't judge her because of it. The movie shows the sides of prostitutes we don't recognise. A smart individual capable of being loved.

Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton we're victims of their circumstance but they redefined social labels and yet you would rather the stayed in the shadows than be as courageous as they are by turn their shape to fame.

Pretty women doesn’t encourage young girls to disregard non-sexual paying jobs. No, society makes that choice for them. A system that pays women lesser than men and criticises a woman's ambition made young women to consider their other options.

And what makes you think all prostitutes are either damaged or hate their job? Their are odds to the job just like any other job, but some porn stars do enjoy their work. Sex work is more than just fuck somebody for cash. These people are occupational therapist too.

We need to stop with the labels and image shaming on sex workers. People do a lot of things to survive and we can at least try to respect any profession one chooses.
