Again, you mistake religious doctrines with religion. Religion is simply a belief in a supernatural being. The doctrines of religion worshipers is what denies women their rights in the society.

Religion doctrines are man made laws. Each fellowship crop out a portion of the Bible that benefits them, in this case the leaders which are also men.

I do believe Christian and Muslim leaders of the old intentionally denied women their civil rights by creating frictions in their doctrines.

No religious clergy accepts that men and women are equal yet the same God they serve says so. If you think about it, our problem is not religion, but rather those interprete it to their benefit.
