Not the learned values we have been brainwashed to believe.

Have you ever wanted something but suddenly changed your mind because you believe it’s against social norms? How does it feel to be called “fat” just because you are not slim like a billboard model? How many of you have been called a “slut” because you were involved with more than one partner?

I bet we have all been labeled one thing or the other simply because we don’t fit into what is considered normal.

This morning I woke up feeling energized. I walked down to my refrigerator, took my pre-workout drink, switched on my laptop, and started reading my…

You can choose to be motivated or demotivated by your experience.

I was at one of my favorite boutiques the other day to buy a birthday present for a friend. I picked a turquoise blue dress with silver lines by the side. I checked the tag to be sure it was within my budget.

Surprisingly, the price was more than what I planned on spending, so I decided to keep the dress from myself and chose another one less cheap but still classy.

When I got to the cashier, the sales girls calculated my items, and the amount turned out to be way above what I saw on the price tags…

“Is he matured or not?” I asked myself.

I have given up on love. At 36, I now have a new dream of living a full and happy life as a single woman. I want to travel the world, host dinners for other singles, enjoy the freedom of exploring my sexuality while pursuing my lifelong dream of being the CEO of me.com.

I’m leaving behind the endless disappointments, unrealistic goals, and invisible feelings that characterized my past relationships. True love, it seems, would not find me. I gave up and moved on, or so I thought.

Then one day, I was leaving work when I bumped into someone…

You find bliss when you stop listening to the noise within.

If you think about the small mistakes in the countless decisions you make in one day, you will have a serious problem. Then multiply your mistakes by that of billions of people with human error, and you will have a disaster. That is the degree of noise our thoughts produce.

What makes these mistakes insidious is that they are rarely caused by conscious decision-making. Our imprecise human judgment produces unwanted variables that, according to the psychologist, are called perceptions or noises.

Your mental illness is not a joke to be ignored anymore.

During my first trimester, I experienced a sudden steep in my mood and perception of life in general. Little by little, I began to develop sleeping and eating disorders. I tried everything to change the situation, but all to no avail.

At the time, I had no idea what I was dealing with. But whatever it was, I kept it to myself and pretended I was fine. I refused to accept help because I didn’t want to be seen as a bad mother or someone who couldn’t handle difficult situations. …

Stop thinking the world revolves around you.

I believe in fairness and equity. If I’m to be a transparent leader, I should be able to listen to everyone’s point of view and then decide on the valuable ones that will be beneficial to the company’s success.

I was in a meeting with our sales team last week, and one of our staff suggested we let the manufacturing company shield all expenses and replace a defective batch they supplied. My partner, Kenneth, made a comment that we were money munchers. Some of our staff burst out laughing. But I took it personally. …

Can deep steaming green tea trim belly fat?

Photo by TeaCora Rooibos on Unsplash

Let this be real, most of us eat a lot of sugar every day. Unfortunately, we do not realize it. This is especially true if you eat muffins, cakes, sweets and drink lots of sweet coffee and tea. People who eat a lot of sugar every day have excess belly fat due to the high fructose content of foods.

Most of us are tired of those extra pounds but are reluctant to sweat in the gym can still burn that pesky fat.

Green tea has been popular for quite some time for its various health benefits such as weight loss…

The other day, I was at a café, two tables by my right; this guy was mumbling and fiddling with his phone. He sipped his coffee, brought out his iPad, and started scrolling up and down.

For five seconds, he would stare blankly into space. In between, he would tap his head with his index finger as if trying to remember something. Then he picked up his phone and started dialing a number; next, I heard him ask some questions to the receiver.

I watched in avid curiosity as the guy continued to mumble while scrolling his phone and tapping…

Being smart does not guarantee you anything.

“All my dreams are dead
Buried in the ground
All my dreams are dead
Lost before I’m found

I remember a day I wanted everything
But now I’d settle for a little piece of mind

All my dreams are dead
Buried in the ground
All my dreams are dead
Lost before I’m found

I remember a day when life held oh so much
But now I realize I’m slowly losing touch

‘Cos all my dreams are dead
Buried in the ground.”
